from our historic engines.

ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS Jumping castle, sausage sizzle, coffee cart, ice-cream van, helicopter simulators and other activities for the kids. Experienced scouts ranging in age from 8 to 18 can assist visitors in activities.

JOY FLIGHTS Stunning views of Caloundra and the adventure of a helicopter flight with Oceanview Helicopters. (Joy flights not included in entry fee)

Helicopters Open Day 2023 saw a huge crowd gather under blue summer skies to experience a unique event.

Surrounded by classic aircraft of all kinds, notably the six historic helicopters on display, visitors were treated to an aerial display by a privately-owned CAC Kiowa helicopter (029), resplendent in its Australian Army configuration, and by the crew at the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service as they provided a winch rescue demonstration from their hovering Eurocopter, 'Lifesaver 45'.

As always, visitors were provided expert guidance and information about the aircraft by QAM's volunteer tour guides. Cockpits were open. Engines were run. Aviation careers were inspired. It was also great to see families picnicking together and to see the kids enjoying activities, including flight simulators and bouncing castle.

Once again, all this was made possible by the enthusiastic, community-minded QAM volunteers. What a day!
